Once an individual is registered in the program, a weekly telephone check is scheduled and made to verify the individual is able to respond. Without a positive response, the individual's emergency contacts are made aware. If an emergency contact cannot be reached, a uniformed police officer is dispatched to the address to determine the individual's status.
