Mint Hill, NC

Emergency Notification System

A new system is now available to all Mecklenburg County Residences to alert the communities during emergencies that may affect your neighborhood.

This new system will be called "Char-Meck Alerts – Mint Hill". This emergency alert and notification system enables us to provide you with critical information quickly, and via multiple methods of notification, when there is a threat to the health or safety of residents. This system serves the City of Charlotte, Mecklenburg County and the Towns of Cornelius, Davidson, Huntersville, Matthews, Mint Hill, and Pineville.

This system is similar to what the reverse 911 system currently does, however this new system will relay accurate and timely notifications of the information you want and need to know. With CharMeck Alerts you control how you are contacted and what information you receive: on your cell, work or home phone, via text, email or voice message. You will receive up-to-the-minute notifications about event and emergencies that may affect your home, workplace or other areas of interest. You pick where, you pick how to be notified.

This system also allows individuals to opt in to receive other non-emergency notifications such as community events, crime alerts, traffic alerts, airport alerts and utility alerts.

  • Severe weather and health alerts that impact you and your family;
  • Amber and Silver Alerts to help find missing people who are in danger;
  • Community alerts including special events and traffic within your city or towns of choice.
