Rubbish and Yard Waste - Curbside

Rubbish and yard waste should be placed at the curb by 7:00a.m. and weigh no more than 75lbs. per pickup

Items contracted for pickup at the curb are:

• Magazines, cardboard boxes and packing materials
• clothing, bagged
• grass clippings and leaves in bags/cans (10 bag limit)

Limbs and Brush

Limbs and brush should be separated from other waste. These should be left not more than five (5) feet in length and not over six (6) inches in diameter. Never place more than one (1) pile of limbs or brush, approximately four (4) feet high by four (4) feet wide and five (5) feet in length, at the curb each week. If yard waste exceeds these specifications, no service will be provided. Appliances (stoves, refrigerators, washers and dryers) will be picked up if prearranged by contacting R.C.S., Inc. 704/376-9359.

No Pickup

No pickup is provided for: carpet, partially filled paint cans, oil, or other petroleum products, batteries, rubber tires or any material not acceptable at the landfill. Absolutely no building materials, wood blocks, tree stumps or logs.

Special Requirements

The following items will be picked up at the curb, but have special requirements for pickup: Broken glass, fluorescent and television tubes should be securely wrapped to prevent injury to the collection crews.
