The purpose of the proposed Mint Hill Tree Ordinance is to preserve and replenish the Tree Canopy within the Town of Mint Hill (the “Town”) and its extra-territorial zoning jurisdiction (“ETJ”). These regulations also establish minimum standards for the maintenance, planting and removal of Trees. It is the intent of this Ordinance to:

 - Protect, facilitate and enhance the rural roadside character and other natural landscape qualities of the Town to help ensure that Tree removal does not reduce property values.

 - Discourage clear-cutting of sites before and during construction.

 - Preserve Existing Tree Canopy and plant new Trees on new Development sites to maintain and enhance the Tree Canopy within the Town.

 - Conserve natural resources including adequate clean air and water.

 - And more!!!
